The Life Sciences sector—a critical user, innovator, and manufacturer of advanced materials—strongly supports the Commission’s objective to strengthen the EU’s economic security, resilience, and industrial competitiveness, particularly through boosting research, innovation, and production capacity for advanced materials. Our feedback is based on the necessity of achieving these goals without placing disproportionate burdens on the highly regulated Life Sciences supply chain. The success of the Advanced Materials Act (AMA) will depend on its coherence with existing and upcoming EU legislation, such as REACH, the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR), and the forthcoming Circular Economy Act (CEA).
